Family and friends always told Donna and Matt Zaleski they should open a restaurant when they hosted parties at their home. After a while, the idea started to sink in.

Donna and Matt changed careers when they bought Conte’s in South Scranton. Matt, a former iron worker, and Donna, a teacher and then stay-at-home mom, researched recipes and tested them on their six kids for months before opening Zaleski’s Clubhouse Cafe in December 1994.

With no restaurant experience, the Zaleskis approached this endeavor through instinct and trial and error. It took time to spread word of the new business and for customers to experience the value it has to offer. Luckily, having a large family comes in handy when running a restaurant. Talk of the restaurant spread throughout the Scranton area mainly by word of mouth. Today, many customers argue that Zaleski’s has the best wings in the city.

Zaleski’s grew through support from the community and the people who run it. It prides itself on great food and service in comfortable, family atmosphere that feels more like a home than a restaurant. We appreciate your business. If you haven't, stop in!
